The Ace of Cups

Love, love, try the day
when all changed. You made
a field of joy an afternoon
of tenderness. New love, the soft

blanket, a cherry cobbler,
an angularity--
a coastal oak
ruffling in a breeze.

The Three of Wands

I asked Madame Physicist,
"Is it true we change things
merely by observing them?"

Looking down avenue de l'Observatoire,
she said, "Well, it is true that
a watched kettle never boils..."

After many years,
it's better to speak new koans
than to solve old ones.
