Ulises u Odiseo fue el legendario rey griego de Itaca, marido de Penélope y padre de Telémaco. Era conocido con el sobrenombre de “el Astuto” debido a su inteligencia. Luchó junto a Aquiles y otros héroes en la guerra de Troya y salió victorioso gracias al truco del falso caballo. Después, empleó 10 años en regresar a casa superando múltiples aventuras.
2.- Superman was born in a planet called Krypton. He had a scientific father who sent him to the Earth when their planet was going to be destroyed. Here, a couple of farmers took care of him and taught him a strict behavior. With his superpowers, he tried to help mankind. Superman was created in 1938 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and his first adventure was published in Action Comics 1.
Superman nació en un planeta llamado Kryptón. Tuvo un padre científico que le envió a la Tierra cuando Kryptón iba a ser destruido. Aquí fue adoptado por una familia granjera que le enseñó una moral muy estricta. Con sus superpoderes, trata de ayudar siempre a la Humanidad. Fue creado en 1938 por Jerry Siegel y Joe Shuster y su primera aventura publicada en Action Comics 1.
3.- Spiderman was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962 and published in “Amazing Fantasy”, a comic book. From the beginning, his success was tremendous since the teenagers could identify with this shy student who turned into a powerful superhero similar to Hulk or Iron Man.
Spiderman fue creado por Stan Lee and Steve Ditko en 1962 y publicado en “Amazing Fantasy- 15”, un libro de comics. Desde el principio su éxito fue tremendo porque los adolescentes se podían identificar con este tímido estudiante que se transformaba en un fantástico superhéroe, similar a Hulk o Iron Man.
4.- The legendary King Arthur is the perfect ruler and has been very popular in France and Britain. His story varied from text to text but Geoffrey of Monmouth’s version is the most important. In the 12th century, Chretien de Troyes added Lancelot and the Holy Grail to the story. The narrative focuses also on the wizard Merlin and other various knights of the Round Table.
El legendario rey Arturo es el perfecto gobernante y ha sido muy popular en Francia y Gran Bretaña. Su historia varía de texto en texto pero la versión de Geoffrey of Monmouth es la más importante. En el siglo XII, Chretien de Troyes añadió Lancelot y la historia del Santo Grial. La narración también se centra en el brujo Merlín y en otros caballeros de la Tabla Redonda.
5.- The Powerpuff girls were created by Craig McCracken in 1998. Professor Utonium felt alone in his beautiful house of Townsville and he tried to make a perfect girl. However, a mistake caused by the wicked Mojo Jojo gave as a result three babies with superpowers: the clever Blossom (her colour is pink), the nice Bubbles (blue) and the brave Buttercup (green). From then, they have been a success among girls all around the world.
Las Supernenas fueron creadas por Craig McCracken en 1998. El profesor Utonio se sentía solo en su mansión de Saltadilla e intentó crear una niña perfecta que le acompañara. Sin embargo, un error causado por el malvado Mojo Jojo dio como resultado tres bebes con superpoderes: la inteligente Pétalo/Bombón (su color es el rosa), la amable Burbuja (de azul) y la valiente Cactus/Bellota (de verde). Son las heroínas de las más pequeñas.
6.- Based on the Greek myth of Amazons, Wonder Woman is a member of a tribe of female warriors. She was created by Marston in 1941 as a "distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to 'a world torn by the hatred of men.'" Her superpowers include super strength, super speed, stamina, and flight.
Basada en el mito griego de las Amazonas, la Mujer Maravilla es un miembro de una tribu femenina de guerreras. Fue ideada por Marston en 1941 como un “modelo feminista cuya misión era traer los ideales de amor, paz e igualdad sexual a un mundo masculino de odio”. Sus superpoderes incluyen vuelo, fuerza y velocidad.
7.- An ordinary woman lives in a poor Russian village where the majority of the people work and suffer in a factory. His son starts to be a protester and she learns from him that it can exist a better world. Finally, she will be an activist heroine too. This book is “the Mother” by Gorky.
Una señora corriente vive en una pobre aldea rusa donde la mayoría de la gente trabaja y sufre en una fábrica. Su hijo comienza a ser un revolucionario y ella aprende de él que puede existir un mundo mejor. Finalmente, será una heroína activista también. Este libro es “La Madre” de Gorki.
