1.- Daddy’s transformation is perhaps the first metamorphosis that a person has to see. He is clever, serious and well-read when you are a child… stupid, unconscious and illiterate when you are a teenager… and he turns into a man at the end, when you grow up.
- Las transformaciones de papa son quizá las primeras metamorfosis que una persona debe ver. Es inteligente, sensato y culto cuando eres un niño… tonto, irresponsable y analfabeto cuando eres un adolescente… y se vuelve un hombre al final, cuando crecemos.

2.- In Victorian times, rich men married an angel-woman to run away of their regular relationships with prostitutes. The wedding-night an important metamorphosis used to happen: the angel turned into an ordinary housewife.
- En la época Victoriana, los ricachones se casaban con mujeres angelicales para huir de sus habituales relaciones con prostitutas. La noche de bodas una importante metamorfosis solía suceder: el ángel se tornaba en una vulgar ama de casa.

3.- Carl’s dog was called Sir Lawrence and his brother was called Pongo. Finally, Sir Lawrence behaved like a Lord and Pongo like a beast… This is a double metamorphosis: strange? No, very frequent.
-El perro de Carlos se llamaba Sir Lawrence y su hermano se llamaba Pongo. Finalmente, Sir Lawrence se comportó como un Lord y Pongo como una bestia… Ésta es una metamorfosis en dos sentidos: ¿extraña? No, muy frecuente.

4.- The Spanish writer Ramón del Valle-Inclán used to claim that it was better to choose a beauty woman tan a good one: “It is easier than goodness turns into wickedness than beauty turns into ugliness”.
-El escritor español don Ramón del Valle-Inclán solía afirmar que era mejor elegir una esposa guapa que buena: “Es más fácil que la bondad se transforme en maldad que la belleza en fealdad”.

5.- Pygmalion was an idiot and he kept on being an idiot after falling in love. It was necessary he became conscious of his feelings to turn into a clever man: a metamorphosis is not a silly thing.
-Pigmalión era un idiota y continuó siendo un idiota después de enamorarse. Fue necesario que él llegara a ser consciente de sus sentimientos para que se transformara en un hombre inteligente: una metamorfosis no es una tontería.

6.- Everybody hated Mary when she was at school. Years later, everybody loves her. What has changed? Nobody knows, but she seemed a frog and now, she is a lioness… Greek Gods are still working today!!
-Todo el mundo odiaba a María cuando iba a la escuela. Años después, todos la adoran. ¿Qué ha cambiado? Nadie lo sabe, pero parecía una rana y ahora, es una leona… ¡Los dioses griegos están todavía trabajando por nosotros!

7.-  A chameleon changes of colour depending on the place where it rests: it is a peculiar animal. Up to 15% of men and women turn into chameleons from time to time: mankind is really peculiar too.
-Un camaleón cambia de color dependiendo del lugar sobre el que esté: es un animal muy raro. Hasta un 15% de hombres y mujeres se transforman en camaleones de vez en cuando: la humanidad es realmente rara también.

8.- Guy de Maupassant and his crazy friends practiced crazy rituals at night and belonged to crazy societies in the day. Guy de Maupassant died completely crazy: crazy things never change!
-Guy de Maupassant y sus amigos locos practicaban rituales locos por la noche y pertenecían a asociaciones locas durante el día. Guy de Maupassant murió completamente loco: ¡las cosas locas nunca cambian!
