------------------------------------------
The subject of a child raised by animals has always captivated human beings. But this not always belongs to the genre of fiction. It is not hard to find in Nature cases of "adoptions" in the animal world, and many times the feeling of maternity prevails over the instinct of their own species. The truth is that many children appeared that were raised by dogs, wolves, monkeys, bears... A curious story is the one of the sisters Kamala and Amala. Kamala was 6 years old and Amala just 3. Both were found in a female wolf's den, near Midnapore (India). The wolf was riddled with bullets, after she tried to defend both of the children as they were her own cubs. It was 1920. The two little girls were very different, so they may not be sisters, and maybe found by the wolves in different moments. They were took to an orphanage. They tried to dress them, but they pulled out their clothes, seemed not to feel the cold. They didn't want to eat until someone had the idea of feeding them in the same place as the dogs, and this way they tasted the food. The most curious thing was the high level of adaptation to the environment in which they were raised. The girls were nocturnal, their senses of hearing and sight were very developed. They only ate meat, howled and ran on all fours. They never felt identified themselves as human, they just played with the dogs, and felt a big fear for people. One year later, Amala died, then Kamala spent weeks howling in one of the corners of the orphanage's garden. Some years later she also died, and was buried beside Amala. The man that found the children regretted, all his life, for taking them away from their wolf mother.
