All the artists hope that some day people will remember us for our artworks, that is with no doubts the best of ourselves. We try to make the viewer dream, and to communicate our dreams, whishes, fears, or our way to see the world. Maybe in some way we try to transform it all, changing everything the way we see it.
My works are deeply symbolic. It is not something obvious, because I like to think that the viewer will try to give it his own sense, almost becoming part of him.
The lights and shadows of every artwork are voices and silences, feelings hidden behind colors. And there's always a reference to nature, to what's mythical, to the fantastic. Because fantasy is part of ourselves, as that's where our true essence resides.  Cuando el maestro Mateo acabó su obra, se representó a sí mismo arrodillado frente a ella, en la Catedral de Compostela. Y creo que este gesto define a todo artista.
Todos los artistas esperamos que algún día nos recuerden por nuestra obra, que es sin duda lo mejor de nosotros mismos. Pretendemos hacer soñar al espectador, y transmitir nuestros sueños, anhelos, miedos, o nuestra forma de ver el mundo. Quizás de alguna manera pretendamos transformarlo todo, cambiándolo todo como nosotros lo vemos.
Mi obra es profundamente simbólica. No es algo obvio, porque me gusta pensar que el espectador intentará imprimir su propio sentido, y que casi se convierta en parte de él.
Las luces y las sombras de cada obra son voces y silencios, sentimientos que se ocultan tras colores. Siempre hay una referencia a la naturaleza, a lo mítico, a lo fantástico. Porque la fantasía es parte de nosotros mismos, ya que allí reside nuestra verdadera esencia.
