EnglishHow long have you been dancing? I have always danced from my earliest days with ballet and modern ballet, latin social dances such as Salsa, Bachata etc, and more recently Argentine Tango. I started belly dancing about 8 years ago and fell in love with it for the moves and the music.

THE ALPHABET OF TREES (II)

Isabel del RíoIsabel del Río

EnglishOur gardens are full of marvelous trees which have been venerated during centuries. In Yareah magazine/January, we started to know and see their poetic secrets by analyzing Robert Graves’ famous essay “The White Goddess- A Historical Grammar of Poetic Myth” and what he calls “The alphabet of trees” in Celtic Druidic culture (letters were known by the name of a tree which started with its same initial.

EnglishHow long have you been dancing?
11 years.
Why "belly dance" instead of a Western dance?
Bellydance is more accessible to than a lot of Western dance forms, which demand rigorous training from an early age. Of course you still have to train hard to be a professional bellydancer! However, for an adult student who wants to take up some form of dance, bellydance is accessible and easy to make noticeable progress in. I was attracted by the fact that it was a dance form that welcomed women (and men, although I didn’t know this when I started!) of all shapes and sizes and made them feel beautiful.

El Velo en la Danza Oriental PDF Print E-mail

Paula YesteroMarwa
