Tlf: (+49)062412021  Open since 19 August 2001, it is a really interesting museum which helps to understand the most famous German epic poem: “The Song of the Nibelungs”.
Located in the old city wall of Worms, the majority of the museum is underground. Then, visitors can forget their busy world to immerse themselves in a virtual experience created by historians, composers and multimedia specialists: fun for all five senses.
Through earphones, the unknown poet whispers his personal story to each visitor, guiding him through his feelings and verses while looking the virtual deep waters of the river Rhine…, always full of old tales and treasures.
Going out, very near, it is the marvelous cathedral of Worms. There, Brynhild and Kriemhild started the fatal war which annihilated both families… Everybody keen on Nibelungs should visit these places.
 Abierto desde el 19 de agosto del 2001, es un museo realmente interesante que ayuda a entender el poema épico alemán más famoso: “El Cantar de los Nibelungos”.
Está localizado en la muralla de la antigua ciudad de Worms aunque la mayoría del museo está excavado en el subsuelo. Así, los visitantes pueden olvidar su ajetreado mundo y sumergirse en una experiencia virtual realizada por historiadores, músicos y especialistas multimedia: diversión para los cinco sentidos.
A través de inalámbricos, el anónimo poeta nos susurra su historia, nos guía a través de sus sentimientos y versos mientras contemplamos las profundas y virtuales aguas del Rin…, siempre llenas de tesoros y cuentos.
Al salir, muy cerca, está la maravillosa catedral de Worms. Allí Brunilda y Crimilda empezaron la fatal guerra que acabaría por aniquilar a ambas familias… Todo amante de los Nibelungos debe visitar estos lugares.

The Powerhouse Museum of Sidney is not precisely a “little” museum. It contains up to 69,400 objects collected from 1880 to the present day: engines, clocks, musical instruments, robots dogs, decorative art…
Nevertheless, one of its seventeen Permanent Exhibitions deserves our interests due to its originality. It is a “little great museum” included in an enormous great one. Called “... never done': women's work in the home. The hidden history of the daily work of women around the home”, it shows the hard tasks of women during the past 150 years. Perfect reproductions of old and new kitchens, of different machines of sewing, washing, cooking or cleaning, of all kind of tiny and curious instruments used in daily routine recreate our grand-grand mothers world with the same atmosphere lived by them one century ago. Better than an historical documentary. You should not lose! It is the other face of Brynhild and Kriemhild’s story. El Powerhouse Museum de Sidney no es precisamente un “pequeño” museo. Contiene unos 69.400 objetos, desde 1880 hasta nuestros días: motores, relojes, instrumentos de música, perros robóticos, arte…
Sin embargo, una de sus diecisiete colecciones permanentes merece nuestra atención debido a su originalidad. Es un “pequeño gran museo” incluido en uno “enorme”. Se llama “… nunca termina: el trabajo de las mujeres en el hogar. La historia oculta del trabajo diario de la casa” y muestra las duras tareas femeninas durante los últimos 150 años. Perfectas reproducciones de viejas y nuevas cocinas, de diferentes máquinas de lavar, coser, cocinar o limpiar, de toda clase de diminutos y curiosos instrumentos recrean el mundo de nuestras bisabuelas con la misma precisión que ellas lo vivieron hace más de un siglo. Es mejor que un documental de época. ¡No se lo pierdan! Puede ser el perfecto contrapunto de la vida de Brunilda y Crimilda. |
