Lilith, el mito, por Alix Otoole

¿Por qué Lilith? Porque quizá Lilith sea la respuesta a muchos por qués. Lilith dejó una estela de preguntas sin respuestas. Real o imaginaria es en esencia una incógnita, a veces una puerta falsa que no lleva a ningún sitio o peor aún te distrae del camino, pero otras veces es una puerta al infinito. El mito de Lilith parece ser la primera huella de verdadera humanidad que existió, y aunque se conoce a Lilith desde los sumerios es sin duda la versión hebrea la más extraña de todas, por lo que es demasiado tentador preguntarse por qué los hebreos dejarían esta arma de doble filo entre sus líneas patriarcales y machistas?, ¿una advertencia? ¿una amenaza? ¿Una manzana de la discordia?

Did Adam have a wife before Eve? According to Ben Sira he did and her name was Lilith, but there is only one passing reference to Lilith in the entire Bible. It is found in Isaiah 34:14 which reads "there too Lilith shall repose." The translation is disputed. Following the King James Version, many Bibles render the passage "there too the night creature" or "the screech owl also shall rest there". Compare these:
