A virtual museum of the Spanish life during the 50’s and 60’s: http://www.rafaelcastillejo.com

same happened with the numerous tourists who had started to visit our country and who appeared on our forgotten beaches to teach us that a beach is much more than sand and emptiness.
Our eternally dressed in black women mixed with glamorous blondings. The first hippies astonished the streets of the capital while Spanish people started to speak foreign languages: it was Rafael Castillejo’s time.
Now and thanks to him, we can see on the net what did they eat, drink, smoke, see, enjoy and study? What were Spanish families, celebrations and streets like? What was that world that “gone with the wind”?
The majority of the museum is made of graphical material and language is not a problem.

Para España, fue una época curiosa. El país se recuperaba lentamente de la guerra civil y se adaptaba a Europa.
Los directores de Hollywood venían aquí a rodar sus películas por los bajos costes pero, después, se enamoraban de la belleza de nuestros lugares y de la amabilidad de las gentes…, lo mismo sucedía con los numerosos turistas que habían empezado a visitarnos y que aparecían en nuestras olvidadas playas para enseñarnos que una playa es mucho más que arena y vacío.
Fue una época que mezcló a nuestras eternas mujeres enlutadas con las elegantes rubias que imitaban la moda extranjera; una época en que los primeros hippies asombraban a los madrileños: la época de Rafael Castillejo.
Ahora y gracias a su trabajo, podemos ver en la web lo que ellos comían, bebían, fumaban, veían y estudiaban, cómo eran las familias, las fiestas y las calles españolas, cómo era ese tiempo que “el viento se llevó”.
La mayoría del museo es gráfico y la lengua no es problema.
