Article by Isabel del Río
The first time that I saw Bogdan Ater's photos, I was shocked. It was the same impression that I have lived before... in front of the terrible Barroque paintings: Ribera, Valdés Leal, Carreño... How can a so young person create a shake which lasts hours? Shadows and lights, blood and flesh, life and death… eternal passion dialoguing from contradictory feelings: Eros and Tanatos would say old Greek philosophers; real life would answer Caravaggio, the father of Tenebrism and, what is more important, of Naturalism, that movement which tried to reflect Men’s truth. But what would say Bogdan Ater?
