La Noche de Isabel Quintanilla

Last week, I went to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid (Conde Duque, 9 -28015) and it caught my eye very many realistic works by different Spanish painters. When I returned home, I started to investigate and my admiration for them continued with every new painting that I discovered...

 They have a perfect technique combined with a delicate taste to choose subjects and, at the end, they activate your imagination which started to fly to other inexistent worlds: this is the Art.
Isabel Quintanilla is one of my favourite. In the museum, she has an oleo on canvas titled “Night” (130 x 110 cm.). It is a simple painting, a table with drawers (one of them opened to show different little objects). On the table, some more ordinary brilliant objects… the wall is pink and the wood of the piece of furniture is light brown. But beyond this silly atmosphere, a big window is showing us the night, with its mysteries and dreams, with its shadows ant dangerous hours, with its suggestive shapes and sexual smells.
Isabel Quintanilla says nothing because it is our mind who speaks through her artistic hand, like a mirror. Who is there? Whatever thing, the world that you like it or that one that you frightened. Are you anxious? Of course: yes, because nobody knows what if beyond a quite room, in an unknown dark place.
Isabel Quintanilla likes windows and doors, hunger flowers and brilliant little objects, little motives that grew up on her canvas to build another thing, an abstract world of worries and desires… Maybe the hyper realistic art is not far away of the abstract one.

LAS MIL Y UNA VENTANAS DE ISABEL QUINTANILLA.
La semana pasada fui a visitar el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid (C/Conde Duque, 9 -28015) y me fascinaron los trabajos de muchos de los pintores realistas españoles que hay expuestos en el museo. Cuando volví a casa, empecé a investigar más y mi admiración fue en aumento con cada nuevo “descubrimiento”. Tienen una técnica perfecta que combinan con el buen gusto a la hora de elegir los temas y, al final, tu imaginación vuela a mundos inexistentes y por explorar: esto es el Arte.
Isabel Quintanilla es una de mis favoritas. En el museo, hay un óleo sobre lienzo titulado “La Noche” (130 x 110 cm.). Es una pintura sencilla: un comodín con uno de sus cajones abiertos deja entrever pequeños objetos… sobre la superficie del mueble resplandecen cacharros corrientes… la pared es rosa, la madera clara… pero más allá de esta ambientación anodina, una ventana se abre a la noche, con sus misterios y sueños, con sus sombras y peligros, con sus formas sugestivas y sus sensuales olores.
Isabel Quintanilla permanece en silencio porque es nuestra mente quien habla a través de su pincel, como un reflejo. ¿Quién está ahí? Cualquiera o cualesquiera, el mundo que deseas o temes. ¿Tienes miedo? Desde luego, porque nadie conoce lo que hay más allá de la seguridad de nuestra habitación, en un oscuro y desconocido exterior.
Isabel Quintanilla suele pintar ventanas y puertas, flores hambrientas y destellos, pequeños motivos que crecen en sus lienzos para construir un mundo de sensaciones abstractas, de preocupaciones y anhelos… quizás el hiperrealismo no esté tan lejos del arte abstracto.
