Matt Hughes
Go to Matt Hughes's Gallery / Ir a la Galería de Matt Hughes What is art to me? This is a deceptively simple question that every artist is faced with throughout his or her life, for one might as well ask, “What is air to you?” Art is more than an end product, but rather a means of communicating intent by the artist for which he or she is inviting the outside world to experience a moment in time that was so profound that they felt compelled to disregard all other facets of their life to convey it. Art is a purging, of sorts, in which the baggage of the world around the artist is finally released, and gives a fleeting glimpse of ecstatic accomplishment. A reflection of a song that can be heard and interpreted throughout the years that follows. Though the culture may dictate the final interpretation - only that artist truly knows what sparked that conversation in them. Only the artist truly knows what small detail gave them that hunger and excitement to toil days away in the pursuit of the perfect meaning.
