Sculptural Ensemble in Târgu-Jiu ( Romania) by Constantin Brancusi 
 Constantin Brancusi (Hobita, 1876- Paris, 1957) made three giant sculptures in stone in 1937 in Târgu-Jiu (also spelled Tîrgu Jiu). They symbolize the

life:
-The Table of Silence is a sculpture made from limestone. Twelve chairs arranged around a table without people introduce visitants to this fantastic place: trees and silent atmosphere.
-The Kiss Gate is made from marble and represents the triumph of love and the beginning of life.
-The Endless Column stacks 17 rhomboidal cast iron modules in a 29.3 meter high column which leads our thoughts to the Heavens.
The monument lies on an axis 1,275 meters long, oriented west to east and is a homage to the Romanian heroes of the First World War.
It is the most important Brancusi’s work. It unified Romanian traditions, primitivism, cubism and abstraction, the whole tendencies of this great sculptor.
Târgu Jiu is situated on the Southern Sub-Carpathians, on the banks of the river Jiu and is the capital of Gorj Couny, Oltenia. If you have the opportunity, do not lose this city and this marvelous sculptural ensemble.

Conjunto Escultórico de Targu-Jiu (Rumanía) realizado por Constantin Brancusi

Constantin Brancusi (Hobita, 1876- Paris, 1957) realizó tres esculturas gigantescas de piedra en 1937 en Targu-Jiu (también se escribe Tirgu-Jiu). Simbolizan el curso de la vida:
-La Mesa del Silencio. Doce sillas en torno a una mesa redonda sin gente introducen a los visitantes en este fantástico lugar: árboles y calma.
-La Puerta del Beso está realizada en mármol y representa el triunfo del amor y el comienzo de la vida.
-La Columna del Cielo superpone diecisiete piezas romboidales para conformar una columna de 30 metros de altura que dirige nuestros pensamientos al Cielo.
El conjunto monumental está orientado de oeste a este siguiendo un eje de 1.275 metros de largo y está dedicado a los caídos rumanos de la Primera Guerra Mundial.
Es el trabajo más importante de Brancusi y unifica todas las tendencias de su estilo escultórico: tradiciones rumanas, primitivismo, cubismo y abstracción.
Targu-Jiu está situado en el Sur  de los Cárpatos, en las orillas del río Jiu y es la capital de Gorj Couny, Oltenia. Si tenéis la oportunidad, no os perdáis esta ciudad y este maravilloso conjunto escultórico.
