Do you like horror films? Then, you like actress Sarah Michelle Gellar. She gained recognition for horror films like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2. But one of her most celebrated roles has been in the movie Cruel Intentions (1999), where she played as Kathryn Merteuil. Now, she has just confirmed on her Instagram account that she’s set to reprise her role as Kathryn Merteuil in the ‘Cruel Intentions’ series. Great!

NBC ordered a pilot of the TV sequel to ‘Cruel intentions,’ written by the original film director Roger Kumble. It seems that it will focus on Bash Casey, the teenage son of Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Philippe) and Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon), and his aunt Kathryn Merteuil’s (Sarah Michelle Gellar) search to control Bash’s soul and Valmont International. Interesting? For sure!

Gellar’s last work was in the animated series Star Wars Rebels for season two, playing a character known as the Seventh Sister. Also in 2015, Gellar co-founded Foodstirs, a foodcrafting brand and e-commerce startup selling baking kits for kids.

“I think that this industry in particular is so fast-paced that you keep saying, ‘I’ll take vacation later.’ Sometimes later never comes. I’m definitely leading a much slower life now that I’m not working every single day on a television series.” Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Thanks to the WB TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003), Gellar earned her six Teen Choice Awards, the Saturn Award for Best Genre Television Actress and a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Television Series Drama. In fact, the character became recognized as one of the 100 greatest female characters in U.S. television.

“Ultimately you want to do something in life that people will remember. And with Buffy, I did that.” Sarah Michelle Gellar.
