New Delhi exhibitions. Vadehra Art Gallery is pleased to present, Love Done Right Can Change the World a solo exhibition by veteran artist Rekha Rodwittiya which opens to the public on 26 February 2016. The show brings together a collection of works, which were created by the artist between 2014-2015, which take forward her continuous efforts in talking about issues of body, gender and self-representation. At the centre of Rekha’s practice is the engagement with ideas and notions of identity.

Rekha’s practice is rooted in ritualistic narratives of the feminine, articulating this in the form of the body. A staunch feminist, it is in the painted landscape of the monumental feminine that she navigates the trajectory of the gender politics through sometimes the personal and at other times the mundane.

Roshini Vadehra (Director, Vadehra Art Gallery), commented:

“We are very excited about doing this solo exhibition by Rekha Rodwittya. It is Rekha’s first solo at our gallery and it is an extensive body of new work including canvases and mixed media works. We hope that this comprehensive exhibition will be a nice introduction of her work for the Delhi audience who may not have had an opportunity to engage with her work in person before.”
