Castle season 8 is coming! Fans and followers are excited because it has been a long midseason break. Don’t you think so? Episode 8, titled “Mr & Mrs Castle”, was aired on 23 November.

However and although fans thought that the midseason premiere will be aired on 1 February, ABC has officially confirmed that Castle season 8 will return on 8 February, 2016. Episode 9 is titled “Tone Death.”

What will happen now? Difficult to know! Showrunners have confirmed that though our favorite couple has secretly renewed their relationship, they will still pretend being separated.

In fact, in a new promo released by ABC, we can see Kate (Stana Katic) flirting with Rick (Nathan Fillion) as she is heard saying, “Is it wrong that I wanna kiss you right now?” and he replies, “So wrong it’s right.”

The promo also teases our romantic couple sharing intimate moments in private. What do you expect from the upcoming episodes? Tell us your opinion now!

“What we love is that now that we’re twisting it so that they’re in it together but the public face of them is separate, that allows the audience to be in on the joke with them — in the sense that they can fight in public, but the audience knows it’s just an act,” Alexi Hawley.

Castle season 8. Promo. Take a look!

Castle is an American crime drama television series. It premiered on ABC on March 9, 2009. The show is produced jointly by Beacon Pictures and ABC Studios, and was created by Andrew W. Marlowe. Castle traces the lives of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), a best-selling mystery novelist, and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), an NYPD homicide detective, their friends and family.

It is about time. Castle has always been about the relationship between Becket and Castle. Without the relationship, the first half of the season has become a boring detective show like all of the others detective shows out there. This is what sets “Castle” TV show apart. I truly hope they can rebuild the damage that has been done with their audience.

I’ll try to keep an open mind about the “together in private, separated in public” theme of the upcoming episodes, at least until I see how it plays out. It will be difficult not to improve on the train wreck of the first 8 episodes. Still, I can’t imagine a separation of any kind having the same dynamic as the earlier seasons. The Castle-Beckett relationship has been the main reason for the show’s success and what separates it from other similar cop shows. To artificially separate them with this uber-contrived Loksat conspiracy is frustrating to loyal viewers who simply want to see them solving crimes as a happily married couple. I’m hoping the showrunners take note of the fan discord and plummenting ratings from the first third of the season and make a course correction before its too late.
