What do you prefer Luke’s green saber in the original trilogy or Kylo Ren’s unusual cross piece? My favorite and one of the lightsaber which has managed to stand out amongst all of the Star Wars movies is Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber. Why was he the only Jedi to wield one?

The lightsaber is an extension of the warrior and responds to the way the use the Force. Why? Lightsabers are powered by crystals and both, Jedi or Sith knights, shape the crystals themselves to make their own weapon.

Mace Windu is the second most badass Jedi in the galaxy after Yoda. Therefore, his lightsaber was purple, mixing the traditional Jedi blue with a hint of the Dark Side’s red.

Furthermore, purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. It’s the color of good judgment, and the favorite color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. Purple gemstones are associated with mysticism and purification. They are used for meditation as well as to increase inspiration.

The violet crystal that powers Windu’s lightsaber comes from the planet Hurikane. There, it was gifted to the Jedi as a young man after he saved the life of one of the crystalline beings who inhabit the planet. It’s lightsaber is unique and wonderful. Don’t you think so?
