Outlander, Hell on Wheels and Longmire deserve a 2016 Golden Globe. Don’t you think so? Tell us your opinion now!

On December 10, the nominees for the 2016 Golden Globes will be announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press. Great! Some people even prefer the Globes to the Emmy awards since they tend to be more open to recognizing TV series that are either new to the table.

Today, we’ll focus on the Outstanding Drama Series category. With any doubt, I’ll pick Outlander, Hell on Wheels and Longmire. Why? Here, my reasons.

Outlander (Starz) is brilliant because the show is able to mix different genres (fantasy, period drama, adventures…) and create a consistent plot based on Diana Gabaldon’s time travel books. Also, actors Sam Heughan playing the role as Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser and Caitriona Balfe as his wife Claire would deserve a nomination. Music is fantastic and photography too.

Hell on Wheels (AMC) is thrilling and the plot absolutely interesting. The series is about the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad across the United States. Thus, it follows the Union Pacific Railroad and its owners, workers, prostitutes, mercenaries, and others who lived and died in the mobile encampment called “Hell on Wheels,” across the Great Plains. At the moment, five seasons and any dull moment!

Longmire (Netflix) is a crime drama television series full of mystery and epic characters. Followers suffered a lot when on August 28, 2014 A&E announced it would not renew the series. Fortunately, on November 19 Netflix announced that it had renewed the show for a fourth season thanks to the support of the fans and to the quality of the show.

I can only voice my opinion on Longmire, since that’s the only one of the three I watch. But yeah, a Golden Globe and several Emmys!

Agree regarding Longmire and Hell on Wheels. As to Outlander – meh.
But two out of three ain’t bad.
And give some thought to replacing Outlander with Murder in the First.

    I agree with zbrk — 100%.

All 3 shows were excellent overall. All 3 had their not so excellent episodes. Uncensored cable has proven to be superior in writing, acting and creativity.

Hell on Wheels started out great. However, it lost itself about halfway through. It lost focus and became the “suffering, morose Cullen Bohannan” show. That and it couldn’t figure out when it was going to be televised, if they were going to finish a season, etc. I lost steam for it. The other two I have not seen and will leave it to others to comment on.

Hell on Wheels rocks, yeah the show lost it’s focus but with this change in direction, you get to see the railroad from the west inward. The asian story has never been told and I found myself wanting more of the show. So yeah try Hell on Wheels again, this last season was amazing!

All 3 should be nominated instead of ignored by the Emmy awards

Hell on Wheels is one of the best acted and written series I’ve seen in years. Shunned by the Emmy’s they deserve best dramatic series based on true events.
