Outlander season 2 is expected to air in March or April 2016 and fans are getting absolutely excited. What will happen with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in Paris? How about their love and family?
Season 2, of at least 13 episodes, will be based on the second book in Gabaldon’s series, Dragonfly in Amber. Then, all rumors about Brianna, Jamie and Claire’s daughter cannot make sense, because Brianna doesn’t make an appearance via time traveling until book four.
Remember that it was once rumored that Irish actress Maeve Foley will be playing as Brianna, but this rumor was immediately dismissed by executive producer Maril Davis on her Twitter post. Davis stated that any “real” casting news from Outlander should only come from a producer or announcements made by @Outlander_Starz or @sony.
Meanwhile, a blu-ray collection from season 1 is now being offered. Sam Heughan was part of the teaser video showing what followers will get when they purchase the ‘Outlander Season 1: The Ultimate Collection’ Blu-ray. It was launched on November 3, and it contains a photo book featuring behind the scenes from season 1.
Outlander confirmed new cast:
In June 2015, the series cast Andrew Gower as the Jacobite pretender Prince Charles Edward Stuart; Robert Cavanah as Jamie’s Scottish cousin Jared; Margaux Châtelier as Annalise de Marillac, Jamie’s French ex-lover; and Laurence Dobiesz as Black Jack’s brother.
In July 2015, Lionel Lingelser was cast as King Louis XV of France. In August 2015, we also knew that Lotte Verbeek would be returning in the role of Geillis.
