Upcoming TV shows. Star Trek will introduce new characters and civilizations

Upcoming TV shows. Are you a superfan of Star Trek? Then, good news! A new Star Trek television series is been prepared. Alex Kurtzman, who wrote the screenplays for Star Trek and Star Trek: Into Darkness is working on developing it now. And according to CBS, the new series will introduce new characters, imaginative worlds and distant civilizations, “while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.”

Star Trek TV show will premiere on CBS in January 2017, but after that will be available exclusively through the network’s over-the-top streaming service CBS All Access.

The new program will be the first original series developed specifically for CBS All Access fledgling streaming service. This means basically that the show will focus on Star Trek fans and followers trying to convince them to sign up.

It seems that CBS wants an HBO-style model where the size of the audience is less important than the depth of that audience’s commitment.

**Alex Kurtzman was born on September 7, 1973 in Los Angeles, California, USA as Alexander Hilary Kurtzman. He is a producer and writer, known for Transformers (2007),The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) and Star Trek (2009).

**Star Trek is a 2009 American science fiction adventure film directed by J. J. Abrams, written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The story takes place in an alternate reality in an attempt to free the franchise from established continuity constraints while simultaneously preserving original story elements.

And you? What do you think about this new attempt? What do you expect for Star Trek (2017 TV) show? Tell us your opinion now!
