On September 21, Blindspot premiered on NBC. The TV show focuses on an enigmatic tattooed and pretty woman, Jane Doe, who has lost her memory and does not know her identity. Jaimie Alexander plays the role as Jane Doe and her performance has received generally positive reviews from critics. Today, ten things you should know about Jaimie Alexander.

Jaimie Alexander was born on March 12, 1984, in Greenville, South Carolina, but she moved to Grapevine, Texas when she was four years old. She took theater for fun in grade school.

“I’m probably one of the worst actors as far as preparation goes, because I actually don’t prepare. I find it easier to read the script and whatever hits me in my stomach, like deep down, I just go with it. And the director kind of molds me whether to go right or left with it.”

When she was 17, she met her manager, Randy James. And after her graduation from Colleyville Heritage High School, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

In 2006, she had her first lead role in the horror film Rest Stop. She play as Nicole Carrow. And in Hallowed Ground, she played as Elizabeth Chambers.

But her most famous role was as Jessi on the ABC Family television show Kyle XY. Her role generated a huge fan base.

She also played as Sif in the superhero film Thor by Kenneth Branagh. She reprised the role in the sequel Thor: The Dark World, and on the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In 2013, she portrayed deputy sheriff Sarah Torrance in The Last Stand, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And of course, in 2015, we’ll meet her every week in Blindspot.

“Never be ashamed of what or how you feel… just be honest.” Jaimie Alexander.
