House of Cards season 3 finished dramatically. Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his elegant and powerful wife Claire (Robin Wright) split up in very bad terms. She was absolutely sick of him and of his selfishness. Furthermore, she feels that he cannot satisfied her in bed anymore. Then and although this is not the first time they have personal problems, it appears that reconciliation will not be possible for next season, at least during the first episodes.
What can he do? He is the President of the United States but re-election is problematic. He came to the White House intriguing and cheating, and everyone knows it already. For sure, political machinations will continue in season 4 but how and above all, where?
Netflix was asking for extras with medical background. Why? Who will be ill or need a hospital? Only two possibilities after Doug Stamper’s death (Michael Kelly): Frank or Claire. The solution would be similar. If Frank is ill will help Claire in her political ambitions, seeing that he is out of the first line of competition. Claire would do the same in similar circumstances.
Furthermore, Neve Campbell joins the cast. Will she be Frank’s new lover? Dangerous! Remember how Zoe (Kate Mara) finished. Because Frank and Claire are the King and Queen, they can fight until the end but the rest of the Chess pieces clog.
Anyway and in spite fans prefer Frank and Claire reconciliation, showrunner Beau Willimon was clear in an interview with E! Online: “We don’t want to pander or cater an upcoming season based purely on fan responses. But I am interested in what they have to say and I think it’s great we can talk to each other.”
House of Cards season 4 is likely to premiere on March 4, 2016, although the date needs to be confirmed officially.
