Anthropoid tells the story of two Czechoslovak soldiers, Jozef Gabcik and Jan Kubis, sent to assassinate the head of the SS, Reinhard Heydrich, known as ‘The Butcher of Prague, in 1941.
Jamie Dornan plays the role as Jan Kubis, Cillian Murphy is Jozef Gabcik; Toby Jones is Jan Zelenka-Hajský; Charlotte Le Bon is Marie Kovárniková; Harry Lloyd is Adolf Opálka; and Bill Milner is Ata Moravec.
This military operation was called Anthropoid and was organized by British Special Forces and by Czechoslovakia’s government-in-exile.
The film is being shot in Prague, and focuses on the operation leading up to Reinhard Heydrich’s death and the cruel German reprisals that followed it.

**Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich (7 March 1904 – 4 June 1942) was one of the main architects of the Holocaust. He was SS-Obergruppenführer (General) and General der Polizei, chief of the Reich Main Security Office and Stellvertretender Reichsprotektor (Deputy/Acting Reich-Protector) of Bohemia and Moravia. He chaired the January 1942 Wannsee Conference, which formalized plans for the ‘final solution to the Jewish Question,’ the deportation and genocide of all Jews in German-occupied territory.
