English actor Tobias Menzies plays the role as Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall in Outlander TV show (2014–present). As you know, Black Jack is brutal and insane. He is obsessed with Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and for years, he has been persecuting and torturing our hero and his family and friends. Specially, his sister Jenny (Laura Donnelly) and his pretty and brave wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe). How does he feel playing as a villain? Today, Yareah quote of the day is by Tobias Menzies, a great actor who plays a hateful role. Everybody hates Black Jack!
“I’ve been really lucky to have had a variety of roles, and I don’t think I’m in danger of being typecast as the romantic lead. I think there’s honour in working as constantly as you can. That isn’t easy. And I’m no matinee idol.” Tobias Menzies.
Tobias Menzies has a solid training as an actor. Being a child, he attended the Perry Court Rudolf Steiner School in Canterbury, Kent, where he was trained in the Steiner System, which includes movement, singing and musical instrumentation. Afterwards, he attended the Frensham Heights School and the prestigious the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, from which he graduated in 1998 with a BA in Acting degree.
“I’m largely interested in people who are just great actors, and they’re not necessarily hugely famous.” Tobias Menzies.
What do you expect of Black Jack in Outlander season 2? Remember that in the end, every great show needs a great villain!
“I live or die by how well I act.” Tobias Menzies.
On August 15, 2014, Starz renewed Outlander for a second season of at least 13 episodes, which will be based on Dragonfly in Amber, the second book in Gabaldon’s series.
Enjoy your day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you!
