English actress Emilia Clarke, best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO series Game of Thrones, wanted to be an actress from the beginning. Her parents warn her about her future difficulties: “My dad took me for an audition once, to show me, ‘OK, you want to be a child actor, this is what it’s like.’ I sang a folk song about donkeys on this West End stage with this big director, and there was a queue of 200 girls all singing ‘Memory.’ I was terrible. Terrible.” But she continued with her idea. Is she sorry? I don’t think so!
Because for her role as Daenerys Targaryen, she received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013. This year, Clarke made her Broadway debut in Breakfast at Tiffany’s playing the role as Holly Golightly. And she lately starred in the 2015 film Terminator Genisys, playing the role of Sarah Connor.
“My life is unrecognizable compared to what it was – ‘Game of Thrones’ has opened doors that were never there before. But it can be dangerous to see it in those terms, I think. It’s best to take it as it comes and work as hard as you can, and hopefully the other things fall into place.” Emilia Clarke.
What do you expect from Game of Thrones season 6? Tell us your opinion now! I always thought that Daenerys would finish with Jon Snow but now, it seems he is dead!
Game of Thrones completed airing its fifth season on June 14, 2015, and has been renewed for a sixth season.
