Hell on Wheels season 5 premieres on AMC Saturday, July 18. Are you excited? What do you expect from the next seven episodes? For sure, the upcoming seven episodes this summer have the potential to change the story of our hero Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount.) He has left the Union Pacific behind for the Central Pacific. Although and according to AMC promo, his problems with Thomas ‘Doc’ Durant (Colm Meaney) will keep on.
The other side of the railroad may serve as a great venue for information on his wife’s and child but also, Bohannon will be threatened by this new world, full of Chinese workers from a different culture. A new important character has been introduced. He is Chang (Byron Mann.) Will he be a friend or an enemy? We hope Chang and Bohannon can have a relationship similar to Elam Fergusson (Common) and Bohannon in previous seasons.
Anyway, Bohannon will need friends. Trying to build the railroad through the mountains is going to be no easy track. As always, the road is full of dangers, from the Indians to the challenges of Mother Nature, from the interests of businessmen to the diseases, and from bandits to madmen. It’s an epic goal!
Furthermore and according to showrunner John Wirth, the Swede (Christopher Heyerdahl) has also headed west, and we must assume that there is a showdown looming for him and Cullen at some point. The Swede has changed his personality from season to season, but he is always a liar and troublemaker, and hates Bohannon.
