Defiance Season 3

Defiance is a community where humans and intelligent extraterrestrial species coexist. Which are they? Learn a little about Votan races.

Defiance is an American science fiction TV show developed by Rockne S. O’Bannon, Kevin Murphy, and Michael Taylor. It premiered on April 15, 2013, in the United States and that same week in most countries that picked up the show. On May 10, 2013, Syfy renewed the series for a 13-episode second season. It premiered on June 19, 2014 and concluded on August 28, 2014. Of course, Defiance was renewed for a 13 episode third season on September 25, 2014, which premiered on June 12, 2015. Just now! Good news!

Defiance takes place in the future on a different Earth, which contains new species and beings. Some of them arrived from space, and others are the result of contamination by Votan terraforming technology.

Votan races:

The Castithans are an aristocratic and beautiful race from the planet Daribo. In season 2, we knew that they can reproduce with humans.

Irathients are the most common Votan race living on Earth. Most of them are farmers.

Indogenes tend to be slender and bald. They revere science and knowledge.

The Liberata are physically short and stocky with thick hair around their head and face. They breathe nitrogen instead of oxygen.

The Sensoth are fur covered and very strong. Hard laborers!

The Volge are feared for their bellicosity.

The Omec developed on the planet Omec, possessing technology long before the other Votan races.

The Gulanee are the biggest mystery of the Votan races, because it is believed they are beings of pure energy.

Other non-human races: Hellbugs and Biomen.

“In the year 2046, it’s a new Earth – with new rules. Over thirty years after various alien races arrived on Earth, the landscape is completely altered, terraformed nearly beyond recognition.” IMDb.
