Outlander Season 1 has just finished with a hopeful finale, ‘To Ransom a Man’s Soul,’ and everybody is waiting for season 2. Stars of the season have been applauded worldwide. Caitriona Balfe playing the role as Claire Beauchamp Randall/Fraser and Tobias Menzies as Frank Randall/Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall have deserved the most positive critics. But especially, actor Sam Heughan playing the role as Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser has been the great revelation of the season. He is much more than a pretty face. In fact, he is a versatile actor, who knows how to provoke smiles, tears and every kind of emotions. The penultimate episode of the season, ‘Wentworth Prison,’ is already a legend on TV.
Actor Sam Heughan has a long career in theater but not so long in the cinema. What had he done before ‘Outlander’? Did you know he was young Alexander the Great?
‘Young Alexander the Great’ by Jalal Merhi is an action, adventure, mystery 2010 British film about Alexander, from his boyhood in Greece to his assumption of Regent of the Land, after proving his worth to his father, the demanding King Phillip.
The film stars Sam Heughan as Alexander; Lauren Cohan as Leto; Christopher Cazenove as Aristotle; David Curtiz as Argon; Sonia Enriquez as Kali; Kholoud Kazeem as Niobe; and John Moulder-Brown as Philip, King of Macedonia.
Writers: Dan Renton Skinner (as Renton Skinner), and Daniel Skinner (screenplay).
The film was not a great success but it show the possibilities of Sam Heughan playing heroic roles. Outlander confirmed this possibility forever.
What do you think? What is your favorite actor playing heroic roles? Mine is Sam Heughan, no doubt!
I also can recommend you the 2011 TV film ‘A Princess for Christmas,’ where Sam Heughan plays the role as Prince Ashton of Castlebury.
Enjoy your day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you!
