Outlander Season 2 & Sam Heughan. Will We See Jamie Fraser Without Claire?
Outlander Season 2. Many TV shows based on books have adaptations that differ from their source. This often causes upset in a particular fandom.
Ronald D. Moore, creator of Outlander TV series, wants to be true to the novels by Diana Gabaldon. Both, Moore and his wife Terry Dresbach, who is the costume designer of Outlander (Congratulations, Terry!) are ardent fans of Outlander and don’t want big changes.
However, a TV show is not a novel, and the small screen has its own language. Then, writers can highlight more some chapters than others or join several chapters into one. This happened in Outlander Season 1 finale… And we go to France!
Now, we would like to know what will happen in Season 2. Ronald D. Moore has already spoken about Paris, the luxurious Court of Louis XV of France, and the wonderful new designs by Terry Dresbach. Thus, it seems clear that we’ll see Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe), who is pregnant, far of Scotland. How long? We’ll see! But in the finale, the Frasers talked about their intention of change the future and prevent the upcoming war which will destroy the culture of the Highlands. What will they do?
In my opinion and speaking about the TV show (not about the books), they should be together through the season. If Claire returns to the 20th century, it should be in the finale, because people need to remember their mutual love and enjoy romantic scenes, which are an important characteristic of Outlander.
To see Jamie alone and sad wouldn’t be gratifying and to see Claire in 1968, with her former husband Frank Randall, who has the same appearance as Black Jack… Well, I cannot put up with this idea. How I hate Black Jack and his stupid face!
