Back for the summer are Chicago Trolley’s popular Neighborhood Routes taking passengers to the incredible areas surrounding the Second City as well as the Night Tour, allowing passengers to enjoy Chicago during a relaxing summer night. Passengers can also take advantage of the year-long Downtown Tour to Chicago’s top destinations. The Downtown Hop-On, Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour.
The Downtown Hop-On, Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour covers 13 miles with 12 stops, giving patrons the option of visiting Chicago’s hottest retail, cultural and family attractions. Among the stops on the Downtown Tour are Skydeck Chicago, the famed Museum Campus (Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium), Millennium Park, Water Tower Place, The Art Institute of Chicago, Navy Pier and the John Hancock Center. The full downtown tour is approximately two hours riding time, with all day access to hop on and off. Tours operate daily from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The Neighborhood Routes.
Chicago’s rich culture and history come alive through Chicago Trolley’s Neighborhood. Routes touring from Wrigleyville to Hyde Park and everywhere in between.
Traveling to the Northside of Chicago, the Wrigley Field Route makes its first stop at one of the oldest zoos in America, The Lincoln Park Zoo. The route continues to the Briar Street Theater, home of Blue Man Group, one of the longest running shows in Chicago. The Wrigley Field Route makes its last stop at none-other than the home of the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field.
The Museum of Science and Industry Route takes passengers through Chicago’s Chinatown on the way through historic Bronzeville, the birthplace of Chicago’s blues and jazz scene. The route then travels to the Museum of Science and Industry located next to Jackson Park, the site of the 1893 Columbian Exposition.
The Greektown Route allows passengers to travel back in Chicago history to visit the former site of the O’Leary’s barn, the point of origin of the 1871 Great Chicago Fire. Passengers then travel to the near westside of Chicago to Little Italy, a neighborhood known for great food, rich cultural diversity and being home to the University of Illinois at Chicago. The route then ventures through Pilsen, a beautiful and historic neighborhood full of vibrant art and exquisite Mexican cuisine. Here, passengers are able to hop on and off at the acclaimed National Museum of Mexican Art before continuing on to Halsted Street, the main thoroughfare of Greektown, home of the National Hellenic Museum, incredible dining and wonderful retail options.
All Neighborhood Routes run May 1 – Jan. 3; 9:15 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets for the Neighborhood Routes are included in the All Tours Ticket or can be purchased separately ($35 for adults; $18 for children 15 and under; children under 5 ride free).
The Night Tour allows passengers to view Chicago’s greatest sights with the glittering city lit up in all of its glory. Highlights include Skydeck Chicago, Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile and the River North area. The Night Tour runs May 1 – Sept. 26; 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. (last boarding time is at 9 p.m.). Tickets for The Night Tour are included in the All Tours Ticket or can be purchased separately ($20 for adults; $18 for children 15 and under; children under 5 ride free).
