Outlander last episode ‘Wentworth Prison,’ aired on May 16, 2015, was one of the boldest episodes that we have seen on a TV show. Congratulations to the cast and writers!
Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) is in Wentworth Prison, a sinister place where the Redcoats enclose the Scots, most of the time on false charges of treason and rebellion. There, in the morning and ‘for breakfast,’ they hang the condemned, making a human chain of horror.
Afterwards and as we can see thanks to the poor Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe), the corpses are thrown into the castle moat without receiving blessing or burial. There is not the slightest pity. Redcoats are abominable!
Yes, we are currently seeing several TV shows where Redcoats are not precisely nice, elegant or good people. For example, AMC ‘Turn: Washington’s Spies’ features creepy Redcoats fighting against General Washington in 1776. One of them, Captain John Graves Simcoe, exemplifies the evil of the oppressors in America.
But Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall (Tobias Menzies) is still worse. Insane and brutal, we feel fear every time he appears on the small screen. What happen with this man? He seems he studied and should behave a little.
Black Jack has personality disorders. He is attracted by Jamie and as he does not support his rejection, he hits and mistreats him to get his love. Of course, even an idiot would understand that is no way to get anything… But Black Jack is insane and finds satisfaction imagining that Jamie has dreams (sorry, horrible nightmares) with him as protagonist.
What will happen now? Jamie continues imprisoned in the castle and Black Jack is still alive and beside him! On May 30, we’ll see the finale. Everything is possible! What do you think? Tell us your opinion now!
On August 15, 2014, Starz renewed the series for a second season of at least 13 episodes, which will be based on Dragonfly in Amber, the second book in Gabaldon’s series.
Enjoy your day, Yareah friends!
