Ariana Grande Bio. Her name was inspired by Princess Oriana From Felix the Cat film. Today, ten things you should know about Ariana Grande.

1.- Ariana Grande-Butera was born on June 26, 1993, in Boca Raton, Florida.

2.- Her name was originally inspired by Princess Oriana from Felix the Cat (1959).

3.- As a child, Grande performed with the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theater playing her first role as Annie. By age 13, she became serious about pursuing a music career.

4.- In 2008, Grande was cast in the supporting role of cheerleader Charlotte in the musical 13 on Broadway,[17] for which she won a National Youth Theatre Association Award. She also sang various times at the New York City Jazz club Birdland.

5.- In 2009, she started to play the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious. After three seasons, the show ended, and Grande starred on the spinoff, Sam & Cat, which ended in 2014.

6.- She has also appeared in other theatre, television and film roles and lent her voice to animated television and films. Grande has been featured on the cover of numerous teen and music magazines.

7.- She signed a recording contract with Republic Records and released her debut studio album, Yours Truly (2013), which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.

8.- Her second studio album, My Everything (2014), also reached number one in the United States. It contained the hit singles “Problem” and “Break Free”.

9.- In 2015, she is promoting My Everything in North America and Europe with a tour titled The Honeymoon Tour.

10.- Ariana Grande’s honors include New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards, Breakthrough Artist of the Year by the Music Business Association, “Best Pop Video” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, “Best Song” and “Best Female” at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, and two Grammy Awards nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
