Chants And Dances Of The Native Americans. Sacred Spirit!
Native Americans live within the boundaries of the present-day United States. They also include the indigenous peoples of Alaska and Hawaii. They are composed of numerous, distinct tribes, bands and ethnic groups, many of which survive as intact, sovereign nations.
Since the end of the 15th century, the migration of Europeans to the Americas has led to centuries of conflict and adjustment between Old and New World societies.
Cultural activism since 60s has increased political participation and led to an expansion of efforts to preserve Indigenous languages and traditions for younger generations. Native Americans have founded independent newspapers and online media, recently including FNX, the first Native American television channel; established Native American studies programs, tribal schools and universities, and museums and language programs.
Today, an example of their beautiful music.
Enjoy your day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you!
Crowfoot, Blackfoot warrior and orator: “What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.”
