Vikings Season 3. What do you know about Loki? He’s always irreverent and nihilistic, different and funny! Today, ten things about Loki.
.- In Norse mythology, Loki is the wily trickster personality.
.- Loki occupies a highly ambivalent and solitary position amongst the gods, giants, and the other classes of invisible beings.
.- In fact, his father is the giant Farbauti (Cruel Striker), and his mother, Laufey (Tree), could be a goddess or a giantess.
.- Loki sometimes assists the gods and sometimes causes problems for them. He is puckish and independent! He makes fun of everything and everyone. We could compare him with the Greek god Dionisios.
.- He’s always irreverent and nihilistic. He doesn’t distinguish right from wrong, and sometimes he even goes against the rules of nature.
.- Loki has the ability to change their physical form at will. He appears in the form of a salmon, mare, seal, a fly, and an elderly woman. Loki is father and mother… A very confused being!
.- For example, by his wife Sigyn, Loki is the father of Narfi and Nari. But Loki is also the mother, giving birth in the form of a mare, to the eight-legged horse Sleipnir.
.- Loki never missed an opportunity to take advantage of any Goddess, and to cheat dwarves. He never stands still or standing.
.- Anyway, his tricks came to an end after causing the death of Baldur (a champion of goodness, innocence and forgiveness). Afterwards, he was trapped in eternal punishment.
.- In the Poetic Edda, Loki appears (or is referenced) in the poems Völuspá, Lokasenna, Þrymskviða, Reginsmál, Baldrs draumar, and Hyndluljóð.
