The Final Girls with Nina Dobrev

The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev & The Final Girls film. Ten things you should know.

It seems that The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev wants to focus on her movie career. The Final Girls (2015) film is a good example. Today, ten things you should know about the film.

1.- The Final Girls is a 2015 American horror comedy film. It’s directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and written by M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller.

2.- The film stars Taissa Farmiga and Malin Akerman in leading roles and Alexander Ludwig, Thomas Middleditch, Alia Shawkat, Nina Dobrev, Chloe Bridges and Adam DeVine in supporting performances.

3.- The plot focus on Max Cartwright (actress Taissa Farmiga). She finds herself reunited with her mom (Malin Akerman), who she lost in real life, when is mysteriously transported with her friends into a 1980s horror film that she had starred. In fact, she was a celebrated scream queen.

4.- Nina Dobrev plays the role as Vicki, a possessive girl.

5.- The film had its world premiere on March 13, 2015 as one of the opening night films at South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. It received mostly positive reviews. For example, Dennis Harvey of Variety gave a positive review, writing: “Though not quite as inspired or consistent as the similarly self-mocking likes of The Cabin in the Woods, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil or the first two Scream pics, this is good fun that should delight genre fans. Directing M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller’s clever screenplay, Todd Strauss-Schulson delivers an accessible in-joke that should sell nicely to various territories in all formats.”
