Bespoke Inns, the Derbyshire based independent pub group, have just opened it’s third venue The Boot at Repton.

Following extensive modernisation and re-furbishment The Boot re-opened last week with a re-launch programme which included eight VIP Preview Nights.

Alan Shepherd, Director/Owner, said “Demand was such that we had to create a number of Preview Nights, so that no one was left out. As it was, we didn’t quite manage to accommodate everyone who wanted to come. But those who came were suitably impressed and have booked already for when we are open”.

Bespoke also operate the multi award winning Dragon at Willington and Harpur’s of Melbourne. Their growth has somewhat bucked the trend in an industry that has seen many pubs going out of business. Early last year, they bought the cottage next door to The Dragon, knocked through and added a new 70 seat restaurant, a dedicated bar and courtyard and have been full every night since! According to Shepherd, “it’s all about location and of course getting the offering right. We have developed our offering over the past five years to ensure we capitalise on what our market is looking for. Plus our location, right beside the Trent and Mersey canal is fantastic for business”.

The latest addition to the family, The Boot, has been renovated, restored and re-born to an amazing standard. Heidi Taylor, the other director and owner looks after all interior design and has had customers marvelling at the decor and attention to detail. “I am so passionate about our pubs. I know exactly how I want them to look and feel and it’s obvious that our customers like what I do too.” Heidi commented. “And, it’s a lot easier when you have a blank canvas. Apart from original beams and features we completely gutted The Boot and have re-built it with care, attention and love! It is full of character and has a great atmosphere” she continued.

The Boot also has it’s own Micro-Brewery and it churning out pints of Boot Beer … which, by all accounts, is ‘Good for The Sole’! The brewery has produced four beers so far: Boot Bitter, Clod Hopper, Tuffer’s Old (Tough as old Boot!)and Repton Cross, but has more ales on the way.

Situated right next door to the famous Repton School and with very little competition nearby The Boot’s 9 luxury bedrooms are going to be a ‘wow’ with parents and visitors and anyone else visiting this lovely part of South Derbyshire.
