London, UK – 19 February 2015 the Silversurfers.com Facebook community achieved the major milestone of 200,000 fans today.
Creative Director, Sally Lock, who manages all social media activity said: “I want to say a very warm ‘Thank you’ to our loyal over 50s Silversurfers. From a standing start 2 years ago, our Facebook community has blossomed into a lively and highly engaged group. I am absolutely delighted by how much our members enjoy Silversurfers Facebook and use it to communicate about all sorts of topics which interest them, and with each other. This week alone, we have achieved engagement rates of over 300,000 and single posts have reached up to 1 million people. Some of our posts have up to 12,500 comments on them.“
The engagement level of the Silversurfers Facebook community exceeds many major corporations and media companies and this is due to Silversurfers’ Creative Director, Sally Lock and her team being totally in tune with the audience with all posts being delivered in a suitable style which encourages debate, comment and interaction.
With over 6 million over 50s currently having a Facebook account, social media is being widely used by this age group.
