Vikins Season 3. Showrunner Michael Hirst has just given some clues about the next future of the Norsemen and their astute leader, Ragnar Lothbrok (actor Travis Fimmel).
This time, Ragnar Lothbrok will go to Paris, but before Vikings will be busily trying to carve out a mutually beneficial relation with the English King of Wessex: blood, lust and betrayal… Of course! Vikings is Top#1 explaining the violent lifestyle of the Vikings and their military tactics. Then, Season 3 cannot forget the inevitable bloody battles in the early episodes in spite of Ragnar’s determination to improve the Vikings’ lives not through sacking but farming.
Michael Hirst insisted in the idea that Ragnar is not interested in power. He didn’t want to be Earl or King. He is motivated by knowledge. He wants to know new cultures and lands. Hirst seemed particularly fascinated by the clash of the two cultures: Pagans and Christians trying to live in harmony.

Also, Hirst spoke a lot about the prophecies. And as The Seer himself says, “Well of course you don’t understand them until it’s happened.” Now, The Seer is talking less about individuals whether about huge future events:
“The attack on Paris, the raid on Paris was even at the time an extraordinary event, you know, 100 ships and 3000 men; nothing before it in the Viking calendar. So I think it’s pointing to the idea that The Seer has foreseen these things it just sets the scene really.” Michael Hirst on HitFix.
**Remember that History’s “Vikings” returns on Thursday (February 19 2015) night for the start of what looks to be its most ambitious season until now.
