Henry Cavill and ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ Ten Things You should know about this upcoming spy-fi movie.
1.- The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is an upcoming spy-fi action comedy film directed by Guy Ritchie and co-written by Lionel Wigram. It’s based on the 1964 MGM television series of the same name created by Sam Rolfe.
2.- The film will be released on August 14, 2015.
3.- The Man from U.N.C.L.E. TV show was aired on NBC from September 22, 1964, to January 15, 1968. It followed secret agents (actors Robert Vaughn and David McCallum), who work for a secret international espionage agency called U.N.C.L.E.
4.- The film stars Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Elizabeth Debicki, Alicia Vikander, and Hugh Grant.
5.- In November 2010, George Clooney showed interest in the movie and was in talks for the main role of Napoleon Solo, but he left in September 2011 due to a recurring back injury. On March 18, 2013, Tom Cruise was in early talks to take the lead in the film, but on May 23, 2013, Tom Cruise dropped out of the movie, due to his commitment to Mission: Impossible 5. Then, Henry Cavill replaced Cruise in the lead role.
6.- The principal photography commenced on September 9, 2013. Filming was being undertaken at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and Royal Victoria Docks, London and Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit in West Sussex, UK.
7.- On July 17, 2014, Daniel Pemberton was hired to score the music for the movie.
8.- Spoiler Alert: According to the trailer, the year is 1963. An unknown criminal organization with ties to former Nazis” is said to have built an atomic bomb. This forces the United States and Soviet Union to cooperate.
