Rebranding Bondage to The Gentle Art of Persuasion.
Bondage and fetish fashion are misrepresented by the Fifty Shades trilogy claim Honour, experts in bondage and role-play.
Ahead of Fifty Shades of Grey’s airing this Valentine’s Day, we are reminded that it is not representative of the true soft bondage ideology which Honour now refers to as ‘The Gentle Art of Persuasion’.
The company’s MD, Amanda Taylor, said: ‘Our Gentle Art faces an image predicament with the arrival of the film. We’re liberated and empowered by the sensation of metering out our careful, mutually beneficial, bondage roleplay and the film jeopardises that.’
The film covers bondage broadly, with a broad acceptance of the pastime, but it suggests within its plot lines that these practices are symptomatic of psychological disturbance which Mandy described as “wholly unrealistic and untrue”.
A study published in The Journal of Psychology and Human Sexuality expressed clearly that ‘no evidence was found to support that clinical disorders were more prevalent among (the bondage community) than among members of the general population.’
Taylor continued: ‘Considering this misrepresentation, we must work to rebrand our Gentle Art to encourage the exploration of personal sexuality at our own pace, the Gentle Art is soft and welcoming – the opposite to the megalomaniacal Christian Grey’s character, whose direct and immediate approach to recruiting his lovers goes against everything our community stands for.’
The argument still rages as to whether the attention brought to the bondage community is a good thing, however, many adult companies have seen a rise in soft bondage sales on the back of the Fifty Shades Effect.
No trauma, just trust; no pain, just pleasure; nothing sick, just sexy. Honour’s new soft bondage collection is as much about tenderness as it is about persuasion – only those who are sensitively encouraged to explore our wonderful world can unlock its internal essence and discover the boundless sexual possibilities it delivers.
Only Honour provides sensitive care along with quality products, discretion where you need it most and a commitment to turning fantasy into reality. The lifestyle Honour offers is both liberated and curious – the expression of nothing but joy and freedom.
With the subtle flushes of punishment entangled with waves of thrilling sex appeal, The Gentle Art of Persuasion is the unencumbered way to express your individuality while venturing into the domain of heels, whips and indulgent lace or latex garments.
Where tradition meets the avant garde and safety meets the risqué, the transition into deeper desires and more soulful sensuality – the bondage and fetish community mixes the sexy, figure-enhancing shapes and perennially playful dips into cuffing and ropes with the unique allure found in the shine of latex and the sensation of steel toys and neoprene restraints.
