1.- Blackhat is a 2015 American action thriller mystery film co-produced and directed by Michael Mann.
2.- ‘Blackhat’ premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on January 8, 2015, and was released in theaters on January 16.
3.- It stars Chris Hemsworth, Tang Wei, Viola Davis, Holt McCallany, and Wang Leehom.
4.- A nuclear plant in Chai Wan, Hong Kong, and the Mercantile Trade Exchange in Chicago have been hacked. The hack was caused by a Remote Access Tool (RAT). Then, Captain Chen Dawai (Leehom Wang), his sister Chen Lien (actress Tang Wei), and Carol Barrett (actress Viola Davis) of the FBI in Los Angeles determine that the code in the RAT was written by Nicholas Hathaway (actor Chris Hemsworth) in college years ago. Hathaway is now in prison for computer crimes and is offered temporary release in exchange for helping, but this will put him in the middle of a power game between the American and Chinese governments as well as arch villain hacker whose identity he has to find if he wants to keep his freedom and his life… Thrilling!
5.- In fact, in an interview, film director Michael Mann said that he was inspired to make ‘Blackhat’ after reading about the events surrounding Stuxnet. It was a computer worm that targeted and reportedly ruined almost one fifth of Iran nuclear centrifuges.

7.- Several technical advisors and consultants were consulted, like former hacker Kevin Poulsen, to make the film as authentic as possible.
8.- Blackhat was a box office bomb. It made just $4.4 for the weekend against its $70 million budget.
9.- Shortly after the official premiere of the movie, composer Harry Gregson-Williams stated that although he is credited for the score the final film “contains almost none of my compositions”.
