Are You Waiting for ‘Avatar’ Sequel? Bad News! It has been delayed until 2017.
The American filmmaker James Cameron has just said that to write the scripts for the Avatar ‘sequel’ is “more complex than he thought,’ because it requires many hours. Then and unfortunately, he has decided to postpone to 2017 the premiere of the first installment of the new trilogy of Pandora.
“There’s a layer of complexity in getting the story to work as a saga across three films that you don’t get when you’re making a stand-alone film,” Cameron said in Wellington, New Zealand, where he was helping promote the local film industry with other directors including Peter Jackson.
“We’re writing three simultaneously. And we’ve done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. We’re not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that,” he added. “And parallel with that, we’re doing all the design. So we’ve designed all the creatures and the environments.”
“I believe 3D is inevitable because it’s about aligning our entertainment systems to our sensory system. We all have two eyes; we all see the world in 3D. And it’s natural for us to want our entertainment in 3D as well. It’s just getting the technology – it’s really more the business model than the technology piece. We’ve solved the technology.” James Cameron.
Enjoy your day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you!
** Avatar is a 2009 American epic science fiction film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. It stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, Joel David Moore, Giovanni Ribisi, and Sigourney Weaver.
“Building upon the world we created with ‘Avatar’ has been a rare and incredibly rewarding experience. In writing the new films, I’ve come to realize that ‘Avatar”s world, story and characters have become even richer than I anticipated, and it became apparent that two films would not be enough to capture everything I wanted to put on screen.” James Cameron.
