Wouldn’t it be better to be abstinent?
To drink a glass of red wine has become synonymous of elegance on TV shows. Patrick Jane (actor Simon Baker) in ‘The Mentalist,’ Olivia Pope (actress Kerry Washington) in ‘Scandal’ or Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) in ‘White Collar’ drink wine as a way to relax. Their lives are full of problems! Thrilling days and terrible enemies! However, they enjoy a soft glass of red wine at night and the will to live returns again.
As you know, Patrick Jane is a fictional character and the protagonist of the CBS crime drama ‘The Mentalist.’ Jane is an independent consultant, and helps the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by giving advice and insight from his many years as a fake psychic medium. He is one of the most elegant men on current TV shows. He is obsessed with coffee but he drinks wine too. California wine, of course!
How about ‘Scandal’ TV show? Olivia Pope (actress Kerry Washington) seems to care about red wine. What kind of red wine is she drinking? Difficult question! She has consumed a wine with a label reading “California Oak.” Then, Olivia appears to go for full-bodied red wines. Once, Cyrus brought Olivia a 1994 Châteauneuf du Pape, and she opened for him a “Bordeaux that’ll bring tears to your eyes.” Then, she loves both, Californian and French wines! The important thing is to relax with a glass of wine in hand at night! Remember that at the beginning of ‘Scandal’ season 4, Quinn found her secret retreat on the beach thanks to locate her expensive wine bottle shipments. She cannot live without drinking! Wouldn’t it be better to be abstinent?
Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) in ‘White Collar’ loves wine too. For example, ‘Franklin Bottles’ revolves around the Franklin Bottles and Neal and his nemesis’ ability to forge them. While there is no evidence these bottles actually existed, the story is grounded in fact. Because Benjamin Franklin was ambassador to France from 1778-1785 and Queen Marie Antoinette could have given bottles of French wine to him as a gift during visits. Yes, Neal loves Bordeaux!
And you? How about you? How do you relax at night? Tell us your opinion about drinking wine.
