We’ll miss Matt Bomer! Yes! On December 18, 2014, ‘White Collar’ will say ‘Au Revoir’ after 6 seasons and 81 episodes. It’s a shame because we loved Neal Caffrey, the sexy conman.
Actor Matt Bomer playing the role as Neal Caffrey, and Tim DeKay as FBI agent Peter Burke have been great from the show premiere on October 23, 2009, on the USA Network. The pair have formed a funny partnership as they work together to apprehend white collar criminals.
The show has a lot of enjoyable ingredients. For example, the series also stars other incredible actors as Willie Garson as Mozzie, and Tiffani Thiessen as Elizabeth Burke. Scripts combine intrigue with humor, and love stories (sometimes with a sad ending, very romantic!) And we have learnt a lot of art.
Neal Caffrey is a forger and a thief but also, an extremely chic and well-educated person. Then, who is his favorite artist? No doubt, Spanish painter Francisco de Goya (1746 -1828). When he turns on his computer, what is the first thing that appears on the screen? ‘The Shootings of May 3rd’ by Goya. Peculiar computer wallpaper!

Why has Caffrey chosen this painting? Difficult answer. Of course, ‘The Shootings of May 3rd’ is a masterpiece but there are other important works throughout the history of painting. A French impressionist painter is chic, and Picasso’s pictures more intellectual.
However, ‘The Shootings of May 3rd’ features the man who faces his terrifying destiny, without fear, and maybe this is Neal Caffrey’s personality. Not only chic or funny but brave and deep.
