British Hairdressing Awards – The Countdown Begins
The Countdown Begins
One week today the very best in British hairdressing will gather in the heart of London to celebrate the next generation of talent as HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, get underway. Launched in 1984 to acknowledge the top creative talent in the country, thousands of hairdressers have entered each year in an attempt to secure their place in hairdressing history. Thirty years on and the British Hairdressing Awards are known as ‘The Oscars’ of the industry with many confirming a win as the highlight of their professional career.
Executive Director of Hairdressers Journal International, Jayne Lewis-Orr will present the awards ceremony in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel, a JW Marriot Hotel in Park Lane, accompanied by a celebrity host. “Each year the awards continue to push creative boundaries and it is exciting to witness the development of an industry where the UK is considered the best in the world. British hairdressers are internationally respected for their craft and originality and to continue leading the way is something that every hairdresser who has entered the British Hairdressing Awards in the last 30 years should be very proud of.”
As the central event in the calander, members of the press, iconic names and finalists from each of the sixteen categories, including the revered British Hairdresser of the Year will be making their final plans for the black-tie event which will see hairdressers from all over the country come together to celebrate the best in the business.
