Hell on Wheels season 4 is full of real people of our history. For example, John Allen Campbell (actor Jake Weber on the TV show), who was the first Governor of the Wyoming Territory; Eva (actress Robin McLeavy), her true name was Olive Oatman and was born in Illinois; Thomas C. Durant (Colm Meaney)… Also, Brigham Young, the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1847 to 1877.
In Hell on Wheels season 4, Brigham Young has a bold personality, the same as the historic priest. In fact, his followers called him “Lion of the Lord”. The character is played by Gregg Henry, very well characterized, and has decided to protect Thor “The Swede” Gundersen, the ruthless enemy of Cullen Bohannon. Will he be another problem for Cullen Bohannon? We’ll see! Nothing good can be expected if he is next to the Swede, what a psycho man!

Maybe it would be interesting to know something about the real Brigham Young now:
He was born in Whitingham, Vermont, in 1801, and was drawn to Mormonism after reading the Book of Mormon shortly after its publication in 1830.
In 1844, while in jail awaiting trial for treason charges, Joseph Smith, president of the church, was killed by an armed mob. Then, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will lead the church with Young as the Quorum’s president.
Afterwards, he founded Salt Lake City and served as the first governor of the Utah Territory.
Brigham Young also led the founding of the precursors to the University of Utah and Brigham Young University.
But he was a polygamist and was involved in controversies during the Utah War, and the Mountain Meadows massacre.
We’ll see his behavior in Hell on Wheels season 4 when he and ‘The Swede’ will face Cullen Bohannon.
