Religion and fun in Galicia. A mystic experience surrounded by art and nature! The Camino de Santiago, also known by the names of the Way of St. James, St. James’s Way, St. James’s Path, St. James’s Trail, and Road to Santiago, it’s the name of the pilgrimage route to the shrine of the apostle St. James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.
The tradition says that the remains of the saint are buried in Santiago Cathedral. And from the Middle Ages to nowadays, many pilgrims have taken up this route as a form of spiritual path or retreat, for their spiritual growth.
Today, people also think that is a way of enjoying nature. It’s a fabulous funny experience.

The pilgrimage is believed by some to be one of three pilgrimages for which the sins of the pilgrim will be forgiven.
The most popular route on the Way of St James is the Camino Frances; this route starts in St Jean Pied de Port, France. It’s the most popular of all the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela and it’s supported with lots of places to stay.
You can walk or even cycle these walking paths.
Santiago Cathedral is a Romanesque structure with later Gothic and Baroque additions.
James, son of Zebedee (died 44 AD) was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, and traditionally considered the first apostle to be martyred.
