NYC Independent film festival has just selected the 2014 festival movies. The documentary ‘Bach in Madrid’ (Bach en Madrid) by Spanish filmmaker Jose del Rio is one of them. Congratulations!
Yareah was the first American magazine that wrote a review about this epic documentary. Then, we are pleased that ‘Bach in Madrid’ has been selected in New York by an institution that has always been known for supporting new talents all around the world. ‘Bach in Madrid’ by Jose del Rio deserves the best!
About the documentary:
Between the years 2004 and 2012, the orchestra and choir of La Capilla Real de Madrid played in the churches of Madrid the integral of Johannes Sebastian Bach’s Cantatas and sacred works. Bach’s music reached all districts of the city, from the most humble to the most touristic ones, in the form of free concerts. More than 70,000 people attended the recitals in which nearly 600 musicians participated. The documentary “Bach in Madrid” followed the course of this cycle in its last two seasons and got into the lives of the musicians and organizers of an event that marked a milestone in the history of the city.
