La Grande Epicerie de Paris finally re-opened recently, after 18 months of renovation, unveiling a contemporary new look featuring clearly marked sections according to professional expertise. Covering 1,500 square meters, the bakery, delicatessen and patisserie showcase delicacies made daily by over 70 craftsmen and apprentices. Baguettes are freshly baked, from the early hours of the morning and throughout the day, delicatessen dishes from 4 corners of the globe and delectable pastries are carefully prepared, on show – enticing an audience of customers and passer-by’s on rue de Sèvres and rue du Bac. Customized chocolate bars and mille-feuilles are made on request, a grand selection of almost 100 drawers of coffees and teas are neatly tucked away and a wine cellar with all key and latest vintages awaits those with the most discerning tastes.
