May 24 2014. According to the head of the Office of Meteoroid Environment NASA, Bill Cooke. A meteor shower will occur on May 24 2014. It’s caused by dust left behind by the comet 209P/LINEAR. It could leave the not trivial figure of 200 meteors per hour in the sky, rivaling the known Perseids of August.
The meteor shower will be in the United States and Canada in all its glory. Congratulations!!!! It’s so beautiful!
“Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas.” Henry Ford.
Two years ago, meteor experts Esko Lyytinen of Finland and Peter Jenniskens Ames of NASA announced that the Earth was going to have a meeting with comet debris 209P/LINEAR. Thus, streams of dust ejected by the comet in the nineteenth century would cross the orbit of the Earth on May 24 2014.
**The 209P/LINEAR comet was discovered in February 2004 by the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research, a cooperative effort of NASA, the Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory Massachusetts, and Air Force U.S. project. It is a relatively weak comet which plunges into the Earth orbit once every five years, as it takes a loop around the sun.
Meteor Shower! I love it! It’s one of the most beautiful things I have even seen!
Enjoy your day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you.
“Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.” Saint Augustine.
